Re: Experiment Version 2
result, obviously the larger wmv is the best,
but between the flash and the smaller wmv the flash is pretty crud quality wise.

Re: Experiment Version 2
If you reduce the flash size then its much beter quality than the windows meda - I may add a high quality flash which would then be about half the size of the large windwos media version.
I think they cheated a bit using engines on a nice day like that - not surprised they won the race!!!

Re: Experiment Version 2
Despite previous warnings the Flash version started instantaniously on my PC, while the Windows Media versions (especially the "Large") took a while "Buffering".
On the other hand, the large Windows version is far better quality than the Flash.........
Small Win version hardly seemed worth watching.

not on my PC it isn't, the flash quality is bad even when the size is scaled down, there is massive jpeging on the captions which does not exist in the windows media, to get rid of the squary looking pixels I had to look at a thumbnail size video

Big win is far better quality than flash. Flash version was clearly pixellated (I made sure I had it on high quality setting too)

Re: Experiment Version 2
After waiting for the download, Winamp started and then failed to show anything. I had to right click & download.
How about a page with something like this...
<p><object id="MediaPlayer" classid="clsid:6BF52A52-394A-11D3-B153-00C04F79FAA6" type="application/x-oleobject" standby="Loading Microsoft Windows Media Player components..." height="200" width="200">
<param name="stretchtofit" value="true" />
<param name="enabled" value="true" />
<param name="url" value="TallShipWindowsmedia.wmv" />
<param name="autostart" value="false" />
<param name="uimode" value="full" />
</object></p>
It should allow you to stream windows media as it's downloading. Linux users will be out of luck though.

Re: Experiment Version 2
I can make the flash the same quality but half the download size of the large Window media one- so at present I am favouring the the Flash amybe in two versions - a small quick on and a large high quality one.
It would be interesting to know:-
