Default IPS/AUTOPILOT

Hi everybody,

I am new to this forum. I have a 42 cruiser with 600IPS. I am encountering a problem when I engage the Raymarine autopilot. The engines are entering into Limb mode without obvious reason. I have read a relevant topic in the forum, but I could not find if or how the problem was solved. Does anybody have experience on the subject?

We had the same problem on a boat we used to have - happened several times. Volvo checked everything and the software - said it was the fault of the autopilot.Raymarine changed the autopilot and we didn't have a problem afterwards.

You have a software problem there, either its the Autopilot or the EVC , there are really no mechanical parts for IPS it is just plug and play, could be a faulty heading sender or its not reading the gps properly so IPS gets confused and goes into limp mode.

I do fully agree with you. The only thing is that neither Volvo nor Raymarine takes the blame. Both engineers came on board and they said that their systems work faulteslly. What is right and what is wrong I do not really know
