Default Med to UK delivery

Need mile building experience? This may be an opportunity. I am looking at getting my Oceanis 390 from Greece back to the UK, ultimately Brighton. It could be done in several hops or as a long single voyage ( 2750 miles long way round or via French Canals - normally loaded boat is 1.65m draft )

Willing to explore opportunities. I will cover boat costs within reason, and may be able to pay a small stipend for miles covered towards the UK. So if you stop off for a week or so somewhere it would be ok but not subsidised.

Boat is available from Mid August this year and there is no real schedule except that it would be nice to have the boat back in the UK before summer next year.

The boat is well founded and very well equipped with Radar, Raymarine e-80, forward sonar, AIS transponder, Inboard autopilot with remote, navtext etc. New batteries totalling 435 ah. Kiwi prop. Boat recently extensively refurbished. New sails , main with 2 reefs , including a spinnaker and a new cruising chute. Sprayhood and Bimini. Serviced 6 man life raft and EPIRB. Live sattelite tracking is fitted to the boat too. Fully auto lifejackets, raymarine MOB alert ( 2 tags ). new lazyjacks.

Hello Ian, she draws 1.65 metres . . . I hear tell that you 'ground' or certainly and regularly touch bottom in the French canals (Canal du Midi) with a draft of 1.4 metres and very often, you cannot even moor at the side due to even less water under your keel. You can't even 'get' to the side!

There are many on the liveaboard forum who will tell you what can and cannot do but I believe 1.4 metres is the absolute maximum.

So, like the two bikers Charlie Boreman and Ewan McGregor, its the Long Way Round for you my lad.

ps: Love to do it with you.

Central canal system via the rhone and chalon sur soane will be easy with 1.65 draft even 1.8 is fine
but will be mighty slow on the rhone agaisnt the current
2-3 weeks minimum time throu france done it once in 2 weeks once in 6 weeks
