Default General Questions

1. In the RYA’s assessment which type of regime, if any, would the MCA like to put in place with regard to the regulation or control of either pleasure craft or those who sail on them?

2. While appreciating that the RYA would not wish to set out its position with regard to matters still in negotiation, to what extent would it concede that some regulatory control may be necessary?

3. In coming to its view on regulation and control, to what extent does the RYA feel it may have, or be perceived to have, a conflict of interest given its commercial role as the principal provider of sailing qualifications (particularly in view of the MCA’s acceptance of alternative, competitive, providers) while at the same time representing the views, apparently, of all who sail?
