Default Salcombe, Boatswain Brasserie

Ten months later I still feel motivated to say a good word about this establishment since this is where I had my best meal of a 3 week west country cruise during summer 2008.

Tis an informal 2 story eating establishment that was fully booked mid week when the private school family types had flocked to Salcombe but the State schools had not yet started their summer break.

Foodwise I'd say it was modern Euro pub cuisine and under priced considering the quality. Service was friendly though a bit erratic. It would be fair to mention the restaurant was running at 100% table occupancy and they had squeezed us in at short notice.

Directions: From the main landing pontoon in Salcombe, when you meet the shore high street, turn right then after about 40m (from memory) turn left into a courtyard type alleyway where you will find Boatswain's on the right.

7 Russell Court
Fore Street
Salcombe
TQ8 8BS

Foodie warning: I am not one, so don't pin high hopes on my remarks if you have a particularly discerning palette or fat wallet.
