Default Winter talks near Henley on Thames

see HOG Henley Offshore Group.

http://www.henleyoffshore.org/events.htm

We're a small band of individuals who like to keep in touch with our love of boats and boating during the winter.
We meet 2nd Monday each winter month
We are a non profit organisation which contributes to charities whenever possible from funds raised from our meetings.

Our next speaker on November 9th is Vyv Cox.
He is well known to many who read this site especially in the winter months or who regularly read the sailing press.....see the above internet connection for more info'.

All are welcome, you can join for a small sub or pay a fiver at the door each visit.
There is a bar and it's a really comfortable venue..... hope to see you there....
come and ask Vyv those questions you always wanted an answer to or wished to discuss concerning boat maintenance or cruising/living aboard in the Med'

Do you still hold these get togethers at the Upper Thames Motor Yacht Club at Sonning?

Hello Byron
I think the meetings you refer to are for the Reading Offshore Club where I am also a member and yes the meets are still held there on the 1st Monday of each winter month.

See the two websites for 'Reading Offshore Club' and 'Henley Offshore Group'.
The Henley club meet at the Badgemore golf club just to the West of Henley by a couple of miles.

They are both non profit non commercial clubs, where proceeds are fed back into keeping the basics of the clubs going and beyond that, funds are chanelled into charities such as Ellen Mcarther trust, RNLI etc..

Both Clubs welcome guests on the night for a small fee only.

see the clubs websites for all the info or PM me for more..

Glad to hear you can make it...... all welcome.... sailors, mobos, canoeists, you name it they come.
Bar open and agm takes but a few minutes (the quickest club I've known to get it over with) and visitors may or may not wish to sit in that area of the room it's up to them.
see you there, please come and introduce yourself if you'r new.
Scotty
Hon sec' HOG and general enthusiast. (my wife says that if it floats, then I take an interest in it!) :-)
