Default ideal location to view marinas/brokerages

Not knowing the area (we are in E.Anglia), could anybody provide a guide/suggestion as to where to base on the s.coast to pack in a long weekends viewing.I am aware there are numerous sites along the s.coast but is there a concentration anywhere? ie nearer, for example, Portsmouth/Southampton or Bournmouth/Poole?
Grateful for any replies.

what sort of boat, and any particlar manufacturer?
For example, Poole is chocka with S/seekers of every size and age, for obvious reasons.
Others are around Lymington, other Hamble...
I guess your research on the net will tell you where you are going? I wouldnt just wander about...

If I knew what sort of boat or any particular manufacturer I could have been more specific....but I dont.I`m not going to just wander about that is why I asked the question.I was under the impression (maybe I am wrong),that brokerages generally had boats to view of all pursuasions.I could narrow it down to a planing boat,up to 40`,open or fly not sure, maybe up to 10 years old.

Ancasta on The Hamble would be a reasonable starting point and you also have 5 other marinas with brokerages on site nearby.

Swanwick marina top of the hamble river, you also have fairline office and sealine brokers in the same yards.

Then 3/4 marinas on the hamble.

Close to Southampton, you will pass Portsmouth on the m27 coming from the east.

Then beyond towards Hythe and Lymington/ new forest.

Plenty to go at, though I would do some internet work to save running around, pick a few from the net first.

Stay in Brighton start with that marina and work westwards until Poole and then home.
Will be very suprised if you manage more than 3 decent sized marinas a day what with distances, hours of daylight and a decent lunch or two !

My tip would be to look at the brokers' websites to give yourself a list of boats to visit. You could start with the Boats For Sale section on here, I think you can search on particular areas, boat sizes, prices etc.

Thank you, but if one had an ideal boat in mind, taking into account,type/age/cost etc ,they could be scattered far and wide.Prefer to maximise quantity as there may be a type etc I had overlooked.I intend to revisit anyway as it is obvious that the s.coast has by far and away the most number of brokerages.
My request was only a start, not definitive.
