Default Brilliant!

Chaps, what can I say? Thank you all very much indeed. In fact the problem, as Vics suggested, was the upper part of the lower gear connecting rod. It needed to be moved aft about 1cm and 'clunk' all fell into place.

Just need to spray with primer...., er, maybe I will do that outside tomorrow!

Now, how do you get grease off of worktop?
