Default second wind

Steve .............a confirmed sailor has just brought a power boat, !!!!!!!!!!!

its the old Top Deck school boat, and he has moved it to Troon, in Scotland.

So you sailors will not have the place to yourself now.

Good luck Steve , I envy you your scenery.

I will miss seeing her around the Solent, used to see her a lot in Yarmouth on a cold winters evening waiting for it to get dark.

Troon entry sits right on the prevailing south westerlys, you exit Troon and sometimes you are right into big seas, I moved to Largs and everything is closer and usually you exit into a flat calm, did a sea trial today and circumnavigated the big cumbrae in less than 30 mins, great fun

Yes, saw that in MBM.

She was in direct view from our berth at Hythe and we came through the lock with her many times, often with anxious faces although more usually mine if the students were at the helm!

Also did my Day skipper on her and had my intro to a F7-8 on the water(reportedly) and she was solid. Very cosy down below, spent a night or two on her can't remember exactly as it was a beer'y blur at the time.

She looks quite good - berthed just across the pontoon from me (or was) - might even book a wee trip with Steve myself, just for the hell of it you understand - doubt if I would be converted although I suspect SHMO would like me to get rid of the rags and stick and become a full blown "diesel head"

I did my Helmsman course with Second Wind on Crytal Rapide at beginning of August. Excellent boat and really enjoyable course. Steve is an excellent instructor and it was a thoroughly enjoyable couple of days. Highlight was bringing the boat back from Lamlash to Troon in a force 6 with poor visibility. Actually got turned round 180 degrees at one point. Best way to learn though straight in at the deep end.
