Default Advice

As a would be Motor Yachtsman needing some legal advice. I took the advice of posters on this forum and rejoined the RYA. Usingthe web assist service I posed a question of your legal dept. No reply...

I must confess that my initial reaction is ' Oh well , still looking after the Yotties @. Could you restore my faith in the organisation and resolve the query? It's paraphrased below.

' I am about to purchase a 48-foot 2nd hand Sunseeker which is currently German registered, the boat lies in MC and is for use for use in France.
For financing purposes the boat will need to be registered. I have been advised that ' The Tonnage Measurement' is not necessary if the German registration/deregistration details are provided as it is a standard boat'. This makes sense , please advise that this is correct as it seems stupid for £180 to be charged for an archaic requirement that is now waived even for cars under EC- rules.
