A friend of mine recently let me have his Late Grandfathers' old boat. Apparently it has been out of the water and dry stored for almost 30 years!! This is where it was stored since the last time it was used..
My friend said it would have eventually been chopped up for firewood so I was very pleased when he let me have it in exchange for a bottle of whisky! I guess the boat is worth a hundred pounds or maybe 2 so I reckon I got the better deal!
Anyway, on one of the sail bags is the name 'Puffin'. We don't know if this was the name his grandfather gave the boat, or if it is a Puffin designed by Ian Oughtred. Thats the reason I have come on here, to see if any of you recognise the boat..
There are Oars, sails, 3 masts, and anchor etc etc and lots of other bits and pieces with this boat (all of which is alien to me having never owned a boat before!) I don't know if he used to have several boats which would explain the 3 masts, of if perhaps all of the masts and sails are for different sailing conditions?
I look forward to any replies. Thank you for your time,
Jimmy.
I have tons of pictures if more I needed but I reckon this lot is enough for now, don't want to bore you all!
