Default Entering Turkey through Gocek or Fethiye

Reading some previous threads on the subject I almost dread asking but ... we've had Mr. Bülent Fidan of Blues Yachting recommended as an agent to steer us through the necessary protocols for entering Turkey with our yacht.

We'll be coming in from Rhodes and were planning on making Gocek or Fethiye our entry port.

Can anyone there or with recent experience give us a steer to make the process as painfree as possible?

Thanks in advance

Did the same run 3 months ago. You have to enter at Fethiye; Gocek is not a point of entry. Blues cleared us in under 20 mind from mooring at the marina and dropped off our passports the next day in Gocek. Price all in Inc marina fee approx €200 - use other threads to complain about the price. Overall totally painless & Blues can sort repairs, parts etc if required

In summer Rhodes is a place to avoid with a yacht. It is often impossible to get a berth in Mandraki harbour and its also a nightmare place for fouled anchors. The unfinished "new marina" is downright dangerous. I do not know where you are now but I would suggest coming in via Kos to Turgutreis, of via Simi to Datca. If going via Simi I suggest anchoring in Pethi bay rather than mooring in Simi town harbour, where I have had my anchor fouled on every occasion. If you are determined to go via Rhodes I suggest trying to book a berth before you get there. I have not done so, but understand that Roditis Yachting can arrange berths, at least in midweek when most of the charter boats are away from Mandraki.

Thanks for the advice and I agree - Rhodes is a wonderful place but wildly overcrowded. We did manage to squeeze into Nereus and if you ever have to stay there we can't recommend them enough.

Fantastic, thanks for the corroboration. Can't wait as we had our honeymoon on a bareboat out of Gocek (quite) a few years ago and are looking forward to getting back there.

Enter through Fethiye and it is now compulsory (In Fethiye) to use an agent. See my thread on this.

Yep, use Blues, they're very good. We used Captain Eddy, also good - ask for Meurat and say you've been recommended by Liz and Jamie of Esper. G'luck!

Why do you recomend the two most expensive agents in the area? Blues charge 200Euros and Cpt Eddie 75Euros. Walk 5o meters down the road Alesta they charge 50TL about £20
