Anybody fancy a drink in Glasgow on the 11th of December? One of our group has suggested a pub somewhere near the Nautical College - apparently they would allocate a room where some of you could play/sing if you wanted. Another option would be to stay more central and perhaps return to the Sir Edward Wylie(sp?). Has anybody any other ideas, suggested venues etc?
I don't suppose anybody would be interested in meeting at the Eggy in Skelmorlie or the Chartrom at Kip

I'm up for a drink in Glasgow. I can get there and back by public transport, which I can't do to Kip or Skelmorlie. I don't know of a pub near the Nauty college that I would drink in, but it is a long time since I was looking for drink in that area. I may have a teeny problem with that date (a significant other's birthday is near that time) but can probably get off the lead.

I am the peep who had suggested the pub at the Nautical college.
It is Sharkie's pub which is in the railway arches directly across the road from the entrance to the mosque and behind the Citizans theatre, we nip in there sometimes at lunch time from the college, and I had asked if it would be permissable to have a wee music session near the christmas which they had no problem with on any night except sat or sun.
It would be about 10 min in a taxi from central station and would be cheaper if a few of you meet there and shared a taxi out.
They have been having a Ceolteas night on mondays for the last 20-30 years.
They can also provide trays of sandwiches if pre ordered, but I wouldent suggest trying to sing with a mouthfull of tuna and sweetcorn
Why not have a show of hands for a prefference so we are all sailing on the same tack. I will go with the wake.

Why is there only one Monopolies Commision?
I'm up for it but I think I would prefer somewhere within walking distance of central stn. Sir Ed Wylie was a bit quiet last time but this time nearer xmas it might be a bit busier. The Bon Accord was good but it can be a bit crowded with a large group of us.
Yes Ash, we had a couple of ladies in the company last year, I am sure we had Sgier and his wife, and there were another couple, forgotton their names.
Anywhere suits me, and not bothered about dates but obviously a date which suits most folk would be the best date.

At the moment the date is flexible I guess - whichever suits most.
Mrs C will be there as she was last time, when we also had Mrs Sgeir and another lady.
Perhaps somebody cleverer than me, and I accept that that means anybody, could put up a poll for the dates and/or venue?

I would be up for something. To be selfish The Chartroom would suit me grand as some kind person could bundle me in a barrow and wheel me back to my boat.
If someone wanted bring their sleeping bag and stay over, may even get out next day for sail/motor. And I am sure I could have my arm twisted to open the ship's bar for a nightcap or two.
