Rubber seals on hatches

I was about to smear a tad of Vaseline on the rubber seals in the coach roof hatches when I remembered a sex education class I saw on the TV. It demonstrated that vaseline attacks rubber by rubbing a very small amount on an inflated condom. Within seconds the condom burst...moral being, use KY. What should I use on the hatch seals? Does non-setting silicon do the job, is KY the best …any suggestions welcome.
