Default Ancient History

Keep meaning to post this. It's a photo of one of our old family boats, taken in the Solent (believe it or not) some time in the early 70s. Built by Taylor and Bates of Chertsey, in the 1920s. Sorry about the rather indistinct pic. quality.

Twin Perkins diesels, teak decks, en suite bath (really!), 55ft LOA and a magnificent 12 knots with the throttles against the stops. Eat yer heart out, Sunseeker. [img]/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif[/img]

Edit: I meant to add that one reason for posting this pic. is that I saw a very similar, if not identical, boat on the visitors' moorings at Buckler's Hard in August. Anybody seen her?
