Urgent Lookout Help Required !!

As reported on here earlier my lads have been contesting the Honda 150 series and unexpectedly doing quite well, however all that has just changed.

Some [--word removed--] broke through 5 perimeter fences, disabled CCTV and Lights and stole the Honda 150 4 Stroke off the back of their race boat last night!! 300Kgs and no way they could get a vehicle within 300yards!! Location: Drivers Wharf up the Itchen, Southampton.

The Engine has no real distinguishing marks as the point of the series is "one make" however the transom yoke is much heftier than the norm, in fact it is a 225 yoke, as the stresses put on the thing is too much for the normal yoke. Only 17 made like this so hopefully someone might notice.

All insured (we hope as with all policies) but lads have next race in Plymouth next week, with the Class 1 boys, so about to shell out £11k for a replacement and then get it back later I suppose. ****ehouses !! Mind you Cougar are being brilliant and may be able to lend them a "spare", nice chaps.

No distingushing markings at all on the engine - not even a serial number? No additional antitamper plastic things to prevent adjustments on the race engines?

Obviously sorry to hear this - vain hope but if I see one on the back of a lorry in teh Poole area over the next few weeks I will be in touch!

Really sorry to hear about this; what a bunch of b*st*rds. I hope it doesn't mess things up. I think several of the leading lights behind Boatmad use Driver's Wharf, so it might be worth a mention on there?

Paul, that's really bad news!! I'm sure the guys at Cougar will help as much as they can. There are some real scroates and it looks as if this may have been a steal to order job! I'll keep an eye out locally, but one Honda looks much like another. Where any other boats touched? My mate Shelly keeps her 225 series boat there.

One of the reason why we keep the school boat locked to its mooring. If somebody is really keen to get something then even the best security can be over come. Buggers!!
