Absolutely brilliant for anything with a serial number (which unfortunately a lot of tea leaves grind off) but still worth the effort as ALL police forces habitually search this database when gear has been recovered etc. Additionally, something like Micro dot (see immobalise web site) brushed onto your property means that even if the thieving bast*rds do grind off a serial number, the property can be listed under its Micro dot code. Stickers come with the kit letting anyone who wants to steal your stuff - and the police that find it - know that its marked.
