Toshiba make a 15 inch, 12V LCD TV with a serial connection for PC complete with 240/12V transformer.
Model number 15VL54G.
300€ in Mallorca.
If your PC does not have a serial connector you can get a USB adaptor

PS: Well Captain what is this "great scheme of things " you speak of?????
