Has the South gone off boating?

Its great to see all these photos, voyage reports and future events being planned in N Wales, Dublin bay area and N W England. It all seems strangely quiet on the South coast. Is the boating centre of GB moving North, or are there just more forumites up here with time on their hands to write these reports up?
