Hambleden Lock closed Wed 21st May

Just in case people haven't seen the notice:

River Thames

Hambleden Lock

EMERGENCY CLOSURE

0700 -1200 Wednesday 21 May 2008

Due to a mechanical problem with the lock gate operation at Hambleden Lock it is necessary to replace the motor and pump in the lock control pedestal. The lock will be out of operation and closed to all traffic between 0700 and 1200 Wednesday 21 May.

We will make every effort to complete the work and reopen the lock as quickly as possible.

We want to minimise inconvenience to those using the river but regretfully, on this occasion, this work is essential for the safety of the lock operation.
