Think of it as a sign of the type of people that can afford a big sportscruiser and a megawatt stereo system. If the guy is young enough to like loud music, he is probably a "go getting", BMW driving individual who thinks that flogging a few toilet rolls to hapless clients is "going for the kill".
To afford such a craft and lifestyle while relatively young means that his attitude to his fellow co workers and man stinks. A case of "me first and everyone else can sod off, cos i'm coming through".
Thoughtlessness to the point of arrogant nuisance is but a small nuance of this odious character's armoury of go gettting materialistic blindness. You should see him (astonishingly badly) drive his BMW / Audi TT / Merc C class motor, the indicator switch has never been used.
Your boat is a hard earned, self sacrificing, stress busting lifestyle purchase, his is a fashion statement / status symbol bought because he thought he would look cool if he owned a boat. Why then should he care a fig if he plays loud music or spills your drinks? he will have found a new fashion statement to play at in a year or two, leaving the die hard boaties to pick up the tattered remains of public perception.
This happened to light aviation in the 70s / 80s and motorcycles in the 90s onwards. Now boats have become "sexy" these types are homing in.
