I have had a visit at Penton Hook from the river police based at Wapping. They explained they will be boarding more and more cruisers that are visiting the tideway. The purpose is security and they are encouraging boaters to become their “eyes and ears” on the river. They have agreed to bring their latest launch to Penton Hook Marina on June 7 & 8. They will be on hand to answer any questions. This is part of an event being put on by Chertsey Marine and in addition to the Police there will be 37 foot Rother Class lifeboat, live flare and lifraft demonstrations and much more. All are welcome. Open at 10:00 to 16:00 hrs both days.
