anyone else get caught out by the wind?

still trying to work out how we managed NOT to hit any other boats in the marina on sunday!
we went to bed moored up at cookham on saturday night, all very calm and peaceful, to awake to the near gales on sunday.
When we entered the marina in the afternoon, was greeted by the sight of two boats struggling to get berthed in the wind. Then it was my turn! took about 4 attempts, 3 full spins and then some rope grabbing by some helpful peeps on the poontoon before she was finally berthed.
Then proceeded to watch, and help a further boat do the same.
