Locky's Thoughts

I am a locky keeper
I work upon the |Thames
Don't ask me what my hours are
Just say they never end

However I don't mind at all
I'm happy in my job
For me there is no better way
To live and make a bob

I've done it now for thiry years
me and my faith spouse
Tending to my locky gates
In my LOCKY HOUSE

But now the 'bean counters' come
He wants to chuck me out
An it's no use me complaining
Cos I aint got no clout

The river it keeps rolling on
And though it'll never stop
It is a fact, the bottom now
much closer to the top

The EA they don't want to know
When I voice my fears
It has no understandin
And it's got no ears.

I can't withdraw my labour
There's things that must be done
But I remember yesteryears
When working here was fun

So I must grin and bear it
and it seems a shame
That now I'm just a number
where once I was a name.
