Hold on. If it was working when you got it - what has changed? Where is the fluxgate and what have you put near it. Any other changes you have made ? Did you actually see it working? Fill in ALL the blanks before tearing the place apart/replacing. If neccessary, get the previous owner to demonstrate it (again).
