Ref 1, yeah maybe, but kinda strange that a skip would write about it as if it was noraml, how things were done. Like the Mirabella crew writing "Yeah well we needed to park and found these handy rocks off Cap Ferrat that the keel would slot into nicely, so we jammed it in there for a few days bla bla..." as if it was the most normal thing in the world.
Ref item 2, AH said (iirc, dont have the mag in front of me, I'm in sunny Birmingham today) he was on a new German yacht tied up in Cannes old port. The boat in the pic was Martha Ann, a Lurssen, tied up to the outer mole in Cannes. So I kinda did take the liberty of thinking the pic was connected with the words :-)
To be honest, I think AH wasn't making stuff up, he was just a bit mixed up. If he had looked across to Port Canto, he would have seen Montkaj moored in Nabila/Kingdom5KR's berth, and Montkaj is ever so slightly creamy white. So I think he saw Montkaj and thought it was Nabila/K5KR. Which is a bit like the editor of Car mag saying he saw a new Lambo when in fact it was a Bentley but not actually making stuff up...  I still think I'm due say £2.05p back :-)
