Polaris launches "significant reorganisation" to sales team
By IBI Magazine / Michael Verdon
In what it says is an "effort to improve the overall dealer network and support provided to both dealers and consumers," Polaris announced today a reorganisation of its top sales team. The reorganisation includes a reshuffling of sales executives as well as a consolidation of several departments. "This organisational effort is just the first step towards Polaris building an industry leading dealer network," said Ken Sobaski, vice president of sales, service and marketing. "This change will reduce the number of dealers each district sales manager calls on, which in short, makes it easier for us to communicate and do business with our dealers." Eric Lindquist was named as director of consumer sales, and he will lead a "new and integrated" Parts, Garments and Accessories (PG&A) and whole goods field sales team. Lindquist was previously PG&A national sales manager. Polaris also announced the creation of a commercial sales organization by consolidating its Polaris Professional Series (PPS), military sales, government services and national accounts into one division. Ross Carlson will head sales for the military and government accounts, and Gary Fritz will manage the PPS accounts. The company also announced that it would be consolidating new dealer and retail development activities under the direction of Steve Menneto. He has been leading Polaris' Dealer Development Quality Initiative since last October. All division heads will report to Sobaski.
