Neilson and The Moorings tie the knot in exclusive sailing holidays partnership
By IBI Magazine
Sailing holidays companies Neilson Active Holidays and The Moorings have joined forces today to offer what they claim is the largest range of sailing holidays to potential clients in the UK, with destinations stretching across the world from Greece and Croatia in Europe to Belize and the Grenadines. Neilson Active Holidays, a member of the Thomas Cook group, have been offering sailing holidays for over 25 years. All Neilson sailing centres are recognised Royal Yachting Association training centres. The Moorings, part of the US based Grand Expeditions holiday group, have over 770 yachts at 27 locations around the globe, for charter. Neilson MD Pete Tyler commented: "Neilson are 'the company' to learn to sail with. No other company trains as many people, with such a highly qualified and dedicated team of instructors. Having mastered the basics, our guests then go on to enjoy our flotilla holidays where they can fine-tune their skills, with a professional crew always on hand to provide reassurance and technical help where necessary. We realise however that eventually our customers "graduate" and start to demand larger boats, and a wish to spread their wings to worldwide cruising areas. We are therefore delighted to be teaming up with The Moorings confident that our customers will continue to sail with the best providers of first class yachting holidays." The Moorings offers a wide variety of yachts, ranging from their Moorings 332, to the fully crewed 62ft Signature 6200 catamaran. Raul Bermudez, vice president at The Moorings said of the new partnership: "This co-operation brings two great advantages to our customers. We have a large worldwide market seeking a range of training and Stay Ashore options in the UK and Mediterranean; Neilson has sailors ready to enjoy sailing on larger yachts in tropical destinations from the Caribbean to the South Pacific. This new partnership will provide all of these benefits to sailors while delivering The Moorings level of customer service. We can now play on our mutual strengths and offer great holidays to sailors across the entire yachting spectrum."
