Shepperton Marina expands

By IBI Magazine

A major refurbishment is currently underway at Shepperton Marina in the UK. Two lakes at the marina, which is located in Middlesex, just 25 miles from London, are being transformed into marina basins with 205 new moorings, taking its current 250-berth capacity up to 455 berths in total. Special areas will also be created for narrowboats and Dutch barges.

According to Shepperton Marina Ltd, new infrastructure will also be installed, including uprated power and utility supplies, new groundworks, paths, roads and a new parking area. A purpose-built two-storey marine service centre will also be built, including full laundry and toilet facilities, as well as a two-storey clubhouse and restaurant overlooking the water.

When completed in 2009, Shepperton Marina will comprise four distinct yachting basins, with each lake taking on a unique character of its own. For more information, visit the Shepperton Marina website at www.sheppertonmarina.com.
