First impressions

As I am quite new to MBM this is my first London Boat Show but it's not my first visit to ExCeL. Before Christmas I accompanied Princess as it transported its mammoth V85 to the show, the full story of which can be found in the March issue of MBM. Back in December the north and south halls were hauntingly empty with the first of the big boats slowly arriving; lighting rigs dotted the floor and huge cranes readied themselves for the work ahead. As I walked in today I couldn't believe the transformation, gone are the work trucks and machinery replaced with an impressive array of boats, from nippy daycruisers to huge yachts. There is also a great selection of chandlery, and as a first-timer I'm still trying to work out how I am going to fit it all in. There is a real buzz about the place. Visitors are already piling through the doors and with a stage delivering top-quality entertainment, I think this is going to be a show to remember.
