RSrnYC Motorboat Open Weekend
This Year's Royal Southern Yacht Club Motorboat open Weekend was blessed by fine weather and a great mix of boats from RIBs and flybridge cruisers to some beautiful classics. While much of the country wallowed in mediocre conditions, the Solent positively shone as did the 15 crews that took part.
The weekend was divided into three on-water trials, designed to sharpen the motorboat mind and several social get-togethers designed to do the opposite. The real emphasis of the weekend though was to simply get out there and have fun and, thanks to Fred, David and the rest of the RSrnYC team, that is exactly what happened.
For the trials, the winning crews will be listed in July's MBM but for now we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them on some intricate navigation, deft seamanship and outstanding post-poker run playing card pilfering on Saturday night.
If you get the chance, this is certainly one for the boat diary next year.
