Day 10 - Channel Islands & Brittany

48°36.076 N 002°49.226 W

There was a nice lie in for the fleet this morning. It was another day to re-stock and explore new surroundings. Binic is a picturesque, sleepy seaside town lined with brasseries. In the backstreets you will find beautifully grand villas, holiday homes and ageing chateaus with stunning gardens. Some crews hit the beach, while others took a stroll along the coastal path or sampled the local brasseries for some alfresco dining. The holiday season has not begun so crews had the beaches more or less to themselves; unfortunately the sea was too cold to take a dip.

The fleet basked in hot sunshine all day in the sheltered sun-trapped harbour. Outside there was quite a breeze building, which luckily died off early evening.

A briefing was held on the pontoon regarding the move to St Malo tomorrow.
There is a very early start planned for tomorrow morning, the fleet will depart shortly after 0530hrs (that's 0430hrs BST). Control RIB Time Flies, with Richard and Claire aboard will depart first, staying ahead of the fleet to assist with locking through and moorings at the other end. Blue Fin, with Neale and Justin aboard will remain in harbour to call out the boats one by one.

After the briefing there was a pontoon party, where everyone mingled and shared locally bought wine and cider.
