Motor
Boat & Yachting magazine marked its centenary in July
2004, and we have been spending the whole of the year
celebrating in many ways.
For any magazine to publish continuously for 100 years is a rare
achievement, and to do it in an industry that has suffered as many
set-backs as motorboating is exceptional. In the boom times the
fortunes of motorboating, and Motor Boat & Yachting magazine,
have gone from strength to strength, but we've also had two World
Wars to get through, we've had fuel rationing, and we've had full-scale
recessions. But despite these, MBY has been a constant companion
to the recreational motorboater and as we move into the 21st Century,
MBY continues to thrive and prosper.
To celebrate the fact the we're still here, still writing
about all that's good (and occasionally bad) about our favourite
pastime, the magazine has been looking back over the last
100 years and enjoying some of the best that motorboating
through
the years has to offer. You can see a flavour of that here,
along with an opportunity to buy
our book and our centenary
issue.
