Nothing left of the luxury 25m cruiser that caught fire in East Cowes yesterday

A luxury motor cruiser which caught fire in East Cowes Marina yesterday afternoon has now completely sunk.

Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue crew were called to the marina at 1.04pm on Tuesday 5 November after reports of smoke billowing from the boat.

A fire spokesman said that the boat named Kahu was the largest at the marina.
 
The 25-metre motor cruiser has three decks and is believed to be on sale for £3.5m.

Sections of the marina were cordoned off for safety reasons while up to 30 firefighters tackled the blaze for 10 hours.

Emergency services have confirmed that the Kahu sank shortly after 11pm last night.

The incident is being dealt with under the authority of the Harbour Commission.
