Dominic J. Daly Marine handled the yacht’s sale on behalf of the Irish Police Authority, with the auction taking place at the Carrigaline Court Hotel on Thursday.

As many as 20 people are reported have viewed the yacht, moored at the Irish naval base at Haulbowline.

Speaking about the sale, auctioneer Dominic Daly told the BBC: “We’ve had people coming to view her from Northern Ireland, the UK, New Zealand and from the Carribean.

“She is quite a large yacht and can accommodate between 10 to 12 people. She does need a new set of sails after they were blown out in a storm on her last crossing.”
