A fire has destroyed the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham, UK, venue for the Marine Electronics Show 2003. The show had been scheduled to take place on November 1-2, however organisers, Marine Electronic Services, now say it will not go ahead.

The fire, which took place on September 16, started around 4pm and quickly enveloped the two exhibition halls, destroying most of the exhibits inside. At the height of the blaze 20 fire engines and over 120 fireman were at the scene.

An investigation into the cause of the fire has been launched.

Marine Electronic Services say the Marine Electronics Show will return to a new venue, yet to be confirmed, in 2004.
