Two men have been charged with stealing boats and equipment worth over £275,000 from a number of sites across Hampshire, including places along the River Hamble (pictured above).

Alexander Phillip Everett is accused of stealing a range of items including boats, trailers, PWCs and RIBs and has been charged with seven counts of theft. Jerry Russett is being charged with two counts of theft for allegedly stealing a RIB and two trailers.

“I would like to thank boat owners for their substantial co-operation with our detailed enquiries over the past year,” said district chief inspector Alison Heydari.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to repeat our pledge to the marine community that we always strive to provide an excellent service by acting on your concerns about crime affecting your property and livelihood.”
