Police in Norfolk are trying to locate the family of a man who died after a boat he was on overturned off the Suffolk coast
Police are appealing to the public to help find the family of a man who died after a boat he was on overturned off the Suffolk coast last week.
Peter Chambers from Great Yarmouth was pulled from the sea near Lowestoft but attempts to resuscitate the 43-year-old were sadly unsuccessful.
A post mortem has given cause of death as drowning and further tests are being carried out.
Two other men, who are believed to have been onboard the speedboat, are still missing.
A Suffolk Police spokesman said: “Officers have received information that Mr Chambers may have connections to Driffield.”
“Now they are asking people in the area if they can help trace Mr Chambers’ relatives.”
Search and rescue crews were alerted to the incident after a man and an overturned boat were spotted in the sea at around 2pm on Monday, March 10.
The white speedboat was later recovered following searches of the coastline.
Debris from the boat was also discovered, including two buoyancy aids, a seat and other equipment.
