JP Morgan and the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust partner with the Round the Island Race

It has been announced
today that JP Morgan will sponsor a further two Round the Island races, while
the Ellen MacAruthur Cancer Trust has been chosen as the race’s official
charity for 2014.

The Island Racing Club
commodore John Dudley made the announcements at the London Boat Show on
Wednesday morning.

Speaking at the boat
show, he said: “JP Morgan Asset Management have been a great sponsor over the
last nine years and that’s why it’s fantastic to announce that they have
committed to sponsor the race for a further two years, to include 2015 and
2016.

“Sponsorship is a key
part of the race, allowing us to provide the best services and facilities to
our competitors.”

For every tweet containing
the hashtag #raceforall, JP Morgan will also donate £1 to the Ellen MacArthur Cancer
Trust.

Last year’s race saw
Olympic sailor Ben Ainslie break the multihull record by 16 minutes and eight
seconds, completing the race in a mere two hours and 52 minutes.

“It always fills the Island
Sailing Club with great pride that Ben comes and competes each year. To have Ben
bring the AC45 to the race was extra special”, said Mr Dudley.
