We were so impressed with Gill’s new Dinghy Smock and Trousers
we’ve chosen them for this year’s sailpower.com corporate
sailing kit. Designed specifically for the dinghy and small keelboat
market and used by the British and US Sailing Teams for Sydney 2000,
this two piece combination is perfect to wear as part of a system
as outer layer protection.
Knowing Gill’s year’s of experience in the dinghy arena,
we were not surprised to find the style and quality of the suit
rating highly among our testers.
The breathable hydrophilic fabric is lightweight and flexible which
is perfect for active dinghy and small keelboat racing. In fact,
the suit is so light and comfortable you barely know you’re
wearing it! We also found the positioning of the front zipped, angled
pockets in just the right place for those all important sailing
instructions. And the velcro adjustable wide, neoprene hem on the
smock top acts as a semi-drysuit seal to keep water seepage to a
minimum.
The well-cut chest high trousers have velcro adjustments on the
ankles and we particularly liked the articulated legs with reinforced
knees and seat.
We chose the bright yellow and navy combination top to match the
navy trousers but if you prefer the more subtle approach Gill offer
the same suit in navy with silver trim.
