If you're in the market for thermals to wear under your drysuit,
we suggest you check out the Helly Hansen Super Lightweight Lifa
range, writes Sue Pelling. To find out if they live up to their
'glowing' reputation, we put them to the test out on the racecourse,
under the Helly Hansen breathable drysuit and mid-layer Helly Hansen
Pro Fleece zip-neck top.
Thanks to the 100 per cent Polypropylene fabric, the long sleeve
Lifa crew-neck top and long pants were incredibly light and thin,
yet very warm.
Hits:Good fit and well styled. I
particularly liked the vest's slightly deeper-cut back, which prevents
the inevitable 'cold' gap appearing between the top and bottoms
when you're sitting out. Because the fabric was thin and wicked
away the moisture from the skin, the thermals were very comfortable
to wear. They were also really quick-drying.
Misses:Bit too thin to wander around
with nothing on top!
Value for money:A small price to pay
for warm, comfortable underwear. Contact Helly Hansen at www.hellyhansen.com
or telephone Helly Hansen (UK) for a list of stockists on 0115 9608797.
