Sam Carter and Paul Davies are currently in Tavira, Portugal for the 420 world championship. They've been at the venue on a training programme with the British team and are now preparing for the practice race which starts on 11 July.

Sam Carter reports from the venue

Training is coming to an end as the team is entering a day off prior to the practice race.

The training has gone well and everybody is in a confident mood. We have just undergone measurement and the sailpower.com boat came through with no hitches.

We now await the practice race and the start of the qualifier series.
