McMurdo will display the Fast Find 220 Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) at the Miami International Boat Show held February 14-18.

Nominated for a NMMA (National Marine Manufacturers Association)
Product Innovation Award at the show, the McMurdo Fast Find 220 is a
powerful distress beacon providing a direct method of alerting search
and rescue authorities where no other forms of communication are
available. The beacon uses the 406 MHz search and rescue satellite communication
system, COSPAS SARSAT and transmits a 121.5MHz homing
signal.

The McMurdo Fast Find 220 is waterproof to 10 meters and able to operate in temperatures as low as
-4°. Once activated the Fast Find 220 will transmit continuously for a minimum of
24 hours at a powerful 5 watt output. A LED SOS flash light assists with rescues
during limited visibility or at night. The compact beacon weighs just
5.4oz and features a reusable safe-stow antenna (new top cap will be
required prior to next use). The Fast Find 220 PLB provides
the user with a full six years of battery life, has no subscription
charges and includes a flotation pouch, lanyard and universal carry
pouch.
