When Pat Hurley brought Corribee 1 to the Island, she had been languishing in a lock-up on the Isle of Dogs and vandalised. Now, following restoration at Laurie Boarer's Cowes yard, she is sailing again. A delighted Pat returned from the trans-Pacific leg of the Clipper Challenge in time to see her take to the water.
Corribee 1's chequered history began in 1965, when she was first launched on the Medway by Tony Tucker, son of the designer Robert. A later owner, Robert Adams, lent her to two girls who unfortunately hit an obstruction, and she sank.
