BT Openzone and Reeds Online Almanac have teamed up with Yachting Monthly to offer the chance to win a great summer prize. Readers can nominate their local marina to win free installation of a BT Openzone wireless broadband (wifi) hotspot, plus a year's subscription to BT Openzone and Reeds Online Almanac publication for the winning reader.
What’s more, the winners will be invited to meet Ellen MacArthur at Cowes Week, on Thursday 7th August, as a guest of BT.
BT Openzone is the perfect tool for a mobile lifestyle. Providing high speed wireless broadband at 39 coastal and inland marinas in the UK and Jersey, allowing them to work, talk and play from the comfort of their boats.
The wifi service provides an estimated 3,000 permanent berth holders and visiting yachtsmen with easy to use connectivity over 10,000 marina berths, making it possible to turn a boat into an office.
When logging onto the BT Openzone network at the marinas, the Reeds Nautical Online Almanac's landing page provides essential navigational data and information from the hard copy. Log on, and turn your sailing into surfing!
To find out more about BT Openzone and the wifi coverage across the country, visit www.btopenzone.co.uk.
The competition is open to marinas with a minimum of 50 berths and entrants should secure written agreement from their nominated marina, in order to verify that the installation will be accepted, and that the marina does not already have wifi provision.
Closing Date: 1 August 2008
