For Duncan and Inge Stewart this year’s ARC is the start of what they call their ‘one-two-or-three year honeymoon’. The Stewarts, who got married earlier this year, are sailing the ARC aboard Anam Cara their 1990-built Westerly 48, with one other crewmember Andrew Duerden.

Twenty-four-year-old Barnaby Edwards is among one of the youngest teams currently sailing the ARC. Edwards and team purchased Makathea - a 30-year-old, 41ft Dufour Sortilege - last year with a vision to take a year out and see the world.

Despite being a cruise the ARC has turned into a flat out race for  Pete Cumming and crew aboard the VO60 Spirit are out to defend last year's ARC line honours title aboard. They are currently battling it out with the likes of 'Leopard of London' and 'Amer Sports'. Keep an eye on Pete’s  daily logs for an insight on what it’s like to  ‘race a cruise’.

Will and Jill Bridge are taking time out from their busy professional lives to race their Moody 42 Alchemy across the Atlantic. For the ARC they are joined by their 32-year-old son Matt and two experienced sailing friends.
