Cheering for the underdog

Here in the media centre we are all impartial observers of the action out on the water, reporting even handedly on the results and favouring neither side - well OK there are a few Kiwis here and even fewer Swiss - but for the main part this is the case. Or is it?

On Tuesday when Emirates Team New Zealand won their stunning victory over Alinghi there was even applause from adrenaline pumped journos. Yesterday, when it was Alinghi's turn, there was barely a murmur. You see, deep down the truth is that we're all rooting for the Kiwis.
