Emirates Team New Zealand pulled off a come-from-behind win today to remain unbeaten in round robin 2 of the Louis Vuitton Cup challenger series.

Overcoming a deficit brought about by a bad start, NZL 92 beat Victory Challenge by a comfortable 34 sec.

NZL 92 retains its second place on the leaderboard with 36 points, one behind BMW Oracle. Luna Rossa is third on 33 points with Desafio Espanol fourth on 29.
With Victory’s defeat today, Spain is a confirmed semi-finalist.

7 May: Team New Zealand scored a good win over Luna Rossa  by 36 seconds  in Flight 9 of RR2 of the LVC to reverse the result of the first Round Robin

NZL 92 looked very impressive in the sea breeze conditions s of 13 to 15 knots  and went on to a comfortable margin of 36 seconds  
 
Both Emirates Team New Zealand and Luna Rossa Challenge started well and fought for control up the windward leg, throwing 33 tacks at each other. The Kiwis seemed to have a slight edge of speed in the 13 knot breeze, and by the top of the beat they had used that advantage to carry the Italians past the starboard layline. 7 May: Ross Halcrow on BMW beating Mascalzone Latino and looking ahead to the top of the table clash against Team New Zealand on Wednesday

Ross Halcrow was on board NZL 32 when Team New Zealand first won the America's Cup in 1995. Considered one of the best trimmers in world sailing he has also won the Volvo Ocean Race and is one of 12 New Zealanders on board BMW Oracle skippered by Chris Dickson. To coincide with our major report on the winners of the European Yacht of the Year awards 2007, we have produced two podcasts programmes this month. The first is an audio walk and talk guide as designer Alex Simonis explains the thinking behind this award winning production cruiser/racer in our Dehler 44 podcast.

The second (larger file) puts pictures to the words on a tour that includes sailing images as well as more detailed pictures above and below decks. As with the audio podcast, our first video podcast can be viewed either directly on your computer as it streams off the web(if you can view .m4v files in your browser), or you can download directly onto your video ipod or similar.

    TP52s what's the big deal?
    In two years the TP52 class has exploded onto the grand prix scene with high performance boats and high budget campaigns. But this is no normal racing class.
