The drawbacks to installing a polyethylene tank
Fabricated polyethylene tanks generally require more baffles than a stainless steel or aluminium tank. This can be an issue with large holding tanks.
Polyethylene tanks can “grow” slightly with a large increase in ambient temperature.
Polyethylene diesel tanks may discolour after a few years.
Fabricated polyethylene tanks are not suitable for petrol.
Fabricated polyethylene tanks cannot have curved surfaces, however a moulded polyethylene tank can.
