The US Coast Guard rescued a distressed dolphin after the mammal landed in a boat off the Florida coast. Watch a video of the rescue below!
Members of the US Coast Guard were called after a dolphin landed in a boat near to Back Bay, Myers Beach, Florida.
The mammal was in a few inches of water at the bottom of the vessel and was becoming distressed.
Members of the Fort Myers Beach Coast Guard station coordinated with a marine biologist from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
The biologist advised that the dolphin should be placed back into the water as quickly as possible.
The video, shot by Seaman Chris Epperson, shows the Coast Guard crew members carefully lifting the mammal back into the sea.
As it enters the water, the animal makes a splash before heading back to its more normal habitat.
The rescue took place on 21 July 2016.
